Welcome to Poco Cielo Resort
Poco Cielo Resort is nestled in the heart of Costa
Rica in the authentic and spectacular mountain town of
Atenas, truly one of the most heavenly places on earth.
Atenas is rated by National Geographic as having “one of
the best climates in the world.” It is home to some of
the most desirable places to stay, most notably Poco
Cielo which is aptly named and translates as “Just a
little piece of heaven.”
Poco Cielo is located in the western Central Valley
in a small rural town and municipal seat for the Canton
Atenas, which includes many outlying barrios and
pueblos. It is located about 25 minutes from the airport
on the road from Manolo's Junction with the Panamericana
Highway to Orotina.
Canadian owned and operated, this little piece of
heaven is on a private, quiet quinta with easy and quick
access to banks, groceries and stores as well some of
the best restaurants in Costa Rica.
An agriculturally based community, Atenas is also
home to the Central American School of Agriculture and
Animal Husbandry (Escuela Centroamericana de Agricultura
y Ganadería), which is located in barrio Balsa. Mangoes,
coffee, and sugar cane are three core crops.
